Villa Perrusson
Rue de la Gare 71210 Ecuisses
- Saône-et-Loire

Establishments Perrusson matter(count) among the numerous established production sites of ceramic, at the end of the XIXth century, on the banks of the channel(canal) of the Centre. In Ecuisses in 1860, Jean-Marie Perrusson, son(sons, thread) of a boatman, starts manufacturing rooms(parts, plays) produced from clays extracted on the spot. Success is there and the company uses(employs) up to 750 workers. The building, construction of which is spread between 1869 and 1900, is realised with the collaboration of the architect Tony Ferret. By its setting-up(presence) chosen, intentionally, next to the railway, it offers its decorations(sets) to admiring looks of the travellers. Sitting enthroned, like a jewel, in the centre of a garden decorated with remarkable gasolines(essences), it is loaded of coloured decorative elements created and realised in the annexed factory, conducted by artists trained(formed) to the Schools of Fine Arts of Lyons and of Paris. This "house - catalogue", most unusual, registered on the Additional Inventory of Historic monuments, illustrates the social and economic success of the family Perrusson, the eclectic taste of the entrepreneurs(contractors) of the end of the XIXth century, their business acumen and sense(direction) of communication.
