The present building is not the original one: on March 8, 1817, a huge avalanche descended from the Dent Parrachée damaged the old church. A long quarrel (steeple!) follows to know where to rebuild it. It will take the community eight years to build a new building, 200 metres upstream, safe from danger.
Inside, the decor warms the heart: no less than 5 altarpieces await you! The main one has the particularity of having been made in 1680 by Molino and Todesco, two master sculptors from Val Sésia (Piedmont) and not from Haute Maurienne, but all have special characteristics, volutes «in rocailles» or polychrome wood, which will seduce your pupils!
