After a glimpse of the castle, located in the heart of a magnificent estate that now houses an agricultural school, follow the guide in the rooms on the ground floor, exceptionally open to the public. Visit proposed by the Department of Savoy and the Association «Connaissance du canton de La Motte-Servolex».

The 40-hectare Reinach estate is currently occupied by the Public Agricultural Establishment of Chambéry (Lycée Reinach, CFPPA de Savoie, Ferme Reinach) of the Ministry of Agriculture. It has been built by successive additions since the end of the 18th century, comprising two castles. The old one, Curtille’s, considerably transformed today. The new one, the Château de la Motte, was built mainly by the Costa de Beauregard between 1809 and 1893\. The estate was purchased in 1898 by Theodore Reinach, a scholar, politician of the 3° Republic, then a socialist radical member of the Savoy. The architect Louis Legrand renovated the castle in a neo-Louis XIII style. The current appearance of the castle corresponds to this period. In 1813, the architect of the gardens, Jacques Lalos, drew up a plan for a landscape park, which he exhibited in his treatise De la composition des parcs et jardins pittoresques, published in 1817\.
