Built in 1736, it was used until the 20th century to connect the valleys of Aulps, Brevon and Abondance with each other, and the lower Chablais via Évian, hence its name «Pont d'Évian». The construction of this bridge was laborious as evidenced by the maxim engraved on the bridge by its builder J.F. DUC. You will find on site a didactic space and rest. Friends of the Bioge Bridge will provide animation on site with the pot of friendship.

Commissioned by the House of Savoy (Victor Amédée II and Charles Emmanuel III), carried out after a call for tenders, by a Faucigny stonemason in Samoëns: Francois Joseph Duc, this bridge (located in the village of Bioge between the communes of Féternes and La Vernaz, at the crossroads of the 3 Dranses) was part of a project of commercial connection (lake -Vallées) and was going to be successively part of the royal road then imperial of the Alps under Napoleon III. In spite of many vicissitudes linked to the jealousy of the local craftsmen (who lost out on the invitation to tender and destroyed by night what had been built by day), the bridge was completed in 1736 with a personal motto on one of its parapets. This mountain bridge, innovative in its architecture, was later reproduced in the cantons of Vaud and Valais. The Bridge was cleaned and restored in 2019.
