The Montagnard Museum, located in one of the oldest houses of the capital, presents an important collection of objects used in the past in the upper valley of the Arve for agro-pastoral tasks both in village farms and in alpine chalets. Three rooms of the traditional habitat are restored and give life to the local rural heritage: the pell (the room and living room), the outa (the kitchen) and the sarto (pantry). Two rooms host temporary exhibitions. On the ground floor, objects related to the treatment of milk, the methods of portage, the work of the fields and the immigration of the Houchards in the 19th century are exhibited.
