Built from 1909 till 1930, she(it) was dedicated in 1949 by the cardinal Tedeschini. She adjoins the monastery headquarters in the order of Visitation, based(established) in 1610 by François de Sales and Jeanne de Chantal. The funeral remains of both saints rest(base) at the top of both side naves, in two golden bronze sarcophagi. They were put down(deposited) there with great pomp, on August 2nd, 1911, accompanied by a huge crowd of annéciens who(which) dedicate a particular(special) worship(cult) to François de Sales, whose city of an unsurpassed brightness work from 1602 till 1622 as bishop of Geneva in banishment in Annecy, illuminated. The basilica was built in the style typical of the end of the XIXth century. The bell tower has a 72 metre height and it is topped with a cross of 7 metre bronze. The nave rests(bases) on a crypt in the lowered bows(arcs). The vault was built in round arch. The stained-glass windows of the basilica evoke the life of both founding saints.
