Built in the XIIIth century by André dolphin, count of Viennese, collegiate Saint-André of Grenoble was the chapel of the palace and the necropolis of the sovereigns of Dauphiné. Endowed with a chapter of 13 canons, she competed with the cathedral built at the same time by the bishop, co-Lord of the medieval city with the dolphin(heir apparent). Only monument builds by the old(former) sovereigns of the province to have reached us undamaged, she saw passing(spending,crossing) many historic characters (Louis XI, holy François de Sales, Lesdiguières, Stendhal) and shelters the grave of the knight Bayard.
