Recital Juliana Laska
J.S. Bach, the emotion of the cello
Juliana Laska, cellist of Albanian origin, performs as a soloist and chamber musician in France, Albania, Greece, Kosovo and Japan. Here, in the exceptionally acoustic Peipin Chapel, she offers a version for cello of the famous Chaconne by J.S. Bach, as well as three solo cello suites by the same composer. The performer decided to dedicate this concert to the mother of the great cellist Pablo Casals, Pilar Defilló Casals, who sacrificed himself in an extraordinary way so that his son could study, to pursue his career and become the leading cellist he still is today. Juliana Laska plays on a Mirecourt cello from the early 19th century, signed by Frédéric Cantal and with a bow of the Mittenwald School from the early 19th century . http://www.julianalaska.com
