Ein aufmerksamer und besorgter Forscher, Vincent Chevillon folgt den Spuren der Tiere und hält seine Gedanken in Aufnahmen fest, die am Seil gezogen werden.
"Es scheint, als könne unsere Welt unsere expansionistischen und progressiven Träume nicht mehr eindämmen. Beunruhigende Unruhen in unserer Biosphäre, die uns zu einer neuen Verantwortung der Bürgerinnen und Bürger veranlassen, unsere anthropozentrische Geschichte in größerem Maßstab mit der anderer Menschen zu überdenken.
Unsere Museen und Naturräume spiegeln heute düstere Worte von Descartes wider, die der Mensch eines Tages «als Herr und Besitzer der Natur» wiedergibt. Dieses koloniale Erbe, sowohl im Hinblick auf die Territorien als auch auf ihre Bestandteile (oder Mitglieder), zwingt uns, unsere Nutzung der Welt zu überdenken."

Ricercatore attento e preoccupato, Vincent Chevillon segue le tracce degli animali e registra i suoi pensieri nelle riprese tirate con la corda.
"Sembra che il nostro mondo non possa più contenere i nostri sogni espansionistici e progressisti. Sconvolgimenti preoccupanti agitano la nostra biosfera e ci impegnano a nuove responsabilità cittadine, ci spingono a ripensare su una scala più ampia la nostra storia antropocentrica con quella di altri esseri.
I nostri musei, i nostri spazi naturali riflettono oggi sinistro le parole di Cartesio, che l'uomo si rende un giorno «maestro e possessore della natura». Questa eredità coloniale, sia nei confronti dei territori che di ciò che li componeva (o di coloro che li componevano), ci obbliga a riconsiderare il nostro uso del mondo."

“Il semblerait que notre monde ne puisse plus contenir nos rêves expansionnistes et progressistes. Des troubles inquiétants agitent notre biosphère et nous engagent à de nouvelles responsabilités citoyennes, nous incitent à repenser à une échelle plus vaste notre histoire anthropocentrée avec celle d’autres êtres.
Nos musées, nos espaces naturels reflètent aujourd’hui sinistrement les mots de Descartes, que l’homme se rende un jour « comme maître et possesseur de la nature ». Cet héritage colonial, tant vis-à-vis des territoires que de ce qui les composent (ou de ceux qui les composaient), nous oblige à reconsidérer notre usage du monde.”

Problemas inquietantes agitan nuestra biosfera y nos comprometen a nuevas responsabilidades ciudadanas, nos impulsan a repensar a una escala más amplia nuestra historia antropocéntrica con la de otros seres.
Nuestros museos, nuestros espacios naturales reflejan hoy siniestramente las palabras de Descartes, que el hombre se rinde un día «como maestro y poseedor de la naturaleza».
