Pascal CHEVALIER

The origins of the church of Fougerolles are unknown. The first church would have been destroyed during the Norman invasions in 899 and as early as 914 a lord of Goué would have given land for its construction. Church completely remodeled by Renous in the 2nd half of the 19th century. The first stage of the renovation took place around 1825-1830. The sacristy was built at its present location and the lower north side. Probably at that time, on either side of the nave, were placed the pillars and arcades from the illustrious Abbey of Savigny. It is also possible to walk to the workshop of the clog (on appointment), to the former wash house and to the park of the Town hall
