Église Sainte-Marie
Bourg, 65500 Caixon
Caixon’s Sainte-Marie Church has a remarkable architecture due to the originality of its bell tower. Four bells are surmounted by a bell tower of hexagonal shape not present in the territory.
The altarpiece of this same church is particularly remarkable. It is a baroque work by Marc Ferrère. It consists of a tabernacle depicting a scene from the Apocalypse; a tomb altar symbolizing Jesus Christ fed by birds; a central panel dedicated to the Virgin Mary and her Assumption; – of twisted columns known as salomonic columns in reference to the temple of Solomon
