GENiUS 2021: On Track
A stone’s throw from the Volcan, in the middle of the Notre-Dame and Les Halles districts, the collective invites you to rediscover a special feature of Le Havre: Place Albert René, a vast but undecided place, somewhere between square, park and ordinary and paved road.
Les Gens Des Lieux intervene for the 4th time in an ordinary space to reveal, through their interventions, the qualities and potentialities, and to make of it a space of poetry, a place to see, to discover and to share.
While respecting the current use as a space of education and initiation to good conduct, GENiUS 2021 proposes an ephemeral urban scenography, opens new paths, deviates from points of view to reveal the hidden poetry of this ultra-urban space. This edition will voluntarily evolve around the work with the plant and the exchange with the public, passers-by, residents and users of the neighborhood.
The collaboration established with the contemporary dance company S.H.I.F.T.S and the Phare Centre Chorégraphique National du Havre Normandie continues for this year. Together they will continue to question the practices that everyone can have of space, the place of the body and reveal a new look on this place.
Genius 2021 is a collective adventure implemented by the Gens des Lieux and coordinated by the Maison de l'architecture de Normandie – the Forum with the support of the CU Le Havre Seine Métropole, the city of Le Havre, the Region and the DRAC Normandie, in collaboration with Les Cueilleurs d'Histoires, the company S.H.I.F.T.S - Arts in mouvement, the label Pays d'art et d'histoire.
