Added to the inventory of historical monuments since 2018, this indisputable Parisian masterpiece of the Modern Movement was built in 1925 by his brother André Lurçat (1894-1970). It is the first of the eight houses built by the architect for artists, Cité Seurat, one of the three major urban complexes built in Paris in the 1920s. The house was raised in 1930 to create a second workshop. Living and working place of the painter, maintained in its original state with its decoration and furniture, the house was bequeathed to the Academy of Fine Arts by Simone Lurçat, the artist’s widow.
