Restitution of the writing workshops "Les gens de Bligny" with Patrick Bard at the Théâtre de Bligny
The writing workshops of the summer of 2021 led by Patrick Bard - the writer-in-residence on Bligny Hill - generated an important and original literary creation.
The actors of the Théâtre de Bligny seize it and the authors invite themselves on stage.
Poems, short stories and song texts appeared under the pen of the participants of the writing workshops related to the writer’s residence of novelist and photographer Patrick Bard on Bligny Hill.
These workshops were built around the important collection of photographic plates Louis Lumière dating from the early twentieth century and telling the life of the people of Bligny: residents of sanatoriums, doctors, nuns, gardeners, cooks, farmers and breeders, technicians and electricians who inhabited this small world living in total autarky, separated from the world by a deadly disease.
This photographic background of considerable historical, sociological and documentary value is coupled with an edifying human dimension, as we enter into the intimacy of people living in another world: that of the end of the candle and the arrival of electricity; the end of the horses and the coming of automobiles; before the great slaughter of the 14-18...
The moving stories imagined during these workshops reinvent the lives of these people of Bligny whose intimate life, ways of thinking, their vision of the world and their perception of the reality of a bygone era, separated from us by two world wars.
Tender and moving moments.
A lesson in humanity!
