It is dedicated to St Michael before being consecrated to St Joan of Arc following his canonization by Pope Benedict XV in 1920\. Built in Vosges pink granite and Euville stone, it belongs to the Romanesque Revival style. The mosaics and paintings that adorn the basilica tell the story of the life of Saint Joan of Arc.
