The said house of Goncourt, located place Jeanne d'Arc, was rebuilt in the second half of the XVIIIth century at the expense of François Leopold Mouzon, master(teacher) des Eaux et forêts de Neufchâteau. The hotel owes its name to one of his(her) owners, Pierre-Antoine-Victor Huot of Goncourt, old(former) captain of artillery and uncle of the writers Jules and Edmund de Goncourt.
