Come, tool in hand, close to the site of restoration of the church to meet the actors and know the history.

The church, built in the time of the Templars and classified as historical monuments, has travelled the centuries accompanying the life of the village. Witness to its history, this old lady today needs big restorations because the wear and tear of time (collapse of the vault, cracks in the structure, broken windows...) no longer allows her to welcome visitors worthily. The inhabitants of La Chapelle-Lasson mobilized to restore the church to its former splendor.
Take advantage of these two afternoons to get to know you on the spot about the performance: they will welcome you with an exhibition, the projection of a film «Au plus près du chantier», and will accompany you within the building.
Film starts at: 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm, and 5 pm.

The church of the Chapelle-Lasson cannot go unnoticed: it stands, in the middle of the fields, at the exit of the village.
This is not the reason why it was classified as a historical monument in 1973, but the quality of its architecture. The only remnant of a monastery of the Hospitallers of Jerusalem, it was probably built, at the end of the twelfth century, in primitive Gothic, already reached, in this region close to the Île-de-France, a good mastery of the vault on a cross of warheads.
Its first quality is the simplicity and harmony of its proportions. The only decoration that the builders allowed themselves, are the capitals with hooks inside and a frieze of choir outside at the top of the gouttereau wall.
The North Transept was rebuilt in the 15th century. A flamboyant window testifies to this, but retains the simplicity and rigour of the late twelfth century. The nave was rebuilt at the end of the 19th century in neo-Gothic style, inspired by the model nature of the original pr
