Proposed at dusk, this commented walk of the Haute-Lay offers to discover this ancient monastic village, built on the edge of the plateau and the forest of Hague.

It will allow a look at the relationship of the village to the landscape, between the wild world and the Lorraine culture, as well as the heritage buildings that bear witness to its unique history. An exploration that will end at night, in the light of flashlights and lanterns.

About the location

Village-Rue de La Haute-Lay
Bourg, 54690 Lay-Saint-Christophe
  • Meurthe-et-Moselle
  • Grand Est
Village, landscape, religious heritage, rural heritage, fountain, abbey, ancient monastic village, Lay-Saint-Christophe is composed of two «village-street». The Basse-Lay, which stretches in the Amezule valley, and the Haute-Lay, which developed on the southern slope of the Plateau de Haye, in the alignment of the former priory Saint-Arnou de Lay. Well exposed and enjoying a remarkable view, the Haute-Lay represents an attractive site for aristocratic homes and luxurious houses. It is also dotted with monuments of collective value, such as fountains.
