About the location

Château de Montigny-Perreux
89120 Charny-Orée-de-Puisaye
  • Yonne
  • Bourgogne-Franche-Comté
The castle has a horseshoe plan and is punctuated by four circular towers. On the posterior facade, there is a beautiful carved terracotta pediment. The front façade was modified at the beginning of the 20th century by the construction of a large polygonal tower. The Estampes family, which acquired this property in 1836, largely transformed the interiors. Behind the stables of the castle, the pottery of Montigny operated from 1735 to 1812 and was destroyed after the Revolution. In 1997, the facades and roofs of the castle, the gate and its gate, the prospect alley connecting the castle to the entrance gate were inscribed to the Historical Monuments. Visit of the park, the common and the castle from 10h to 18h.
