The origin of the church dates from the 10th or 11th century. It has since been used by the community of the inhabitants of Chavannes. The lords of the castle of Mouchet were buried there until the 16th century, inscribing on a liter funerary their personal coat of arms. Before a restoration campaign, discovery windows allow to get an idea of the interest of this ornamentation of the walls.
