In the Roman city, the theatre receives popular performances mixing music, singing and dance. A legacy of Greek culture, the plan follows the shape of a hemicycle where the bleachers open in fan facing the stage. A wall closes the perspective in the back of the actors and hosts a carved decoration. The Forum Iulii theatre, built in the 1st century AD, is located in the north-eastern part of the city near the Rome Gate. The remains still in elevation make legible the overall structure of the building and let imagine the dimensions and the ceremonial decoration of this monumental building.
