Easter Monday 1898, the new church of Saint-Martin du Cellier is blessed by Bishop Rouart of Nantes. It will be completed in 1920\. Built in a Byzantine Romanesque Revival style, it replaces the smaller church located at the present site of the Monument to the Dead. Between 2003 and 2008, a major exterior and interior restoration project restored the architectural and decorative qualities of the church. The frescoes depicting scenes from the life of Saint Martin de Tours and the Way of the Cross, made between 1925 and 1931 by the Lemasson brothers, are restored to their colours. Today, a living Christian community meets regularly for all the events of Christian life: masses, times of prayer, baptisms, marriages, burials, etc.. It is also a remarkable building by its architecture and decoration. It is protected under the title of Historical Monuments. It is a place of visit where everyone feels welcomed whatever his convictions and motivations to enter a church. A team takes care of thi
