Guided tour of the Eaux-Bonnes "from Empress Eugenie to the present day".

Although the first building of Eaux-Bonnes referring to thermalism dates back to the sixteenth century, the current establishment dates from 1830 as well as the nearby church and the government house (now the town hall).
In the second half of the nineteenth century, the great epoch of the resort, the facades of the buildings display a style "second empire" (ref. A Haussmann) with semicircular openings and red bricks... In 1868, a hundred houses were listed. It is also the period when many personalities stay there: the Empress Eugénie, the Duchess of Angoulême, the Duchess of Berry, Rosa Bonheur, Delacroix, Sarah Bernhard...
