To begin your journey through time, come discover the house of the café by crossing the small bridge of time, then go to the hearth of the boilers and continue the circuit of the manufacture of sugar in the seventeenth century. The mill at dawn, the pressing of the cane, the descent of the vesou, the arrival in the boilers, the crystallization in the sugar loaves, the recovery of molasses, the orientation of the sugar towards the oven and of the molasses towards the guildiverie, and finish your initiation of sugar and rum in the aging cellars. If you like the outdoors, a tour of the owner in Pony will be offered to the children and you can admire the models of vintage sailboats made in coconut leaves by the artist "Tomaszewski".

Habitation La Salle
Sainte-marie 97230
  • Martinique
Visit in a former sugar factory of the seventeenth century, its mills, its paddle wheels, its purgerie, its stills of distillation, its boilers and its cellars, its shop inside of eight buildings completely renovated. Previously, this dwelling was known as the Survilliers sugar factory, for having been the property of Claude de Laguarigue de Survilliers born in 1668 in the island of Saint-Christophe. Driven out by the English in 1690, he took refuge in Martinique, settled at Sainte-Marie and in 1695 married Mlle Luce de La Salle. Just before the revolution, in 1786, Jacques Guillaume Seguin de La Salle bought the house that bears his name today.
