Since April 2016, citizens have been reporting trees as part of the CAUE-led Participatory Inventory of Remarqauble Trees in La Réunion. The proposed trees are then studied by a group of experts from the insititutional and associative world: "The Piedboi Commission". It characterizes and integrates trees into the Inventory. In 2020, the Inventory evolves into a "Tree Observatory" by integrating new tools developed with partners across Reunion’s borders.
The video-conference is an opportunity to meet exceptional trees of La Réunion and to present, in an objective and realistic way, the successes and limitations of this work of observatory.
