Discover the Albert Barbot Foyer’s educational apiary
The beehive has been around since 2019 and it is an opportunity through the JEPs to discover it.
Bees play a major role in the environment. The presence of an apiary on the site of the Foyer Albert Barbot aims to raise awareness of the urgency of participating in the maintenance and preservation of the island’s biodiversity. The apiary is an educational tool available to children but also to residents and employees of the Home. Residents also took part in this project: ESAT workers made them and residents customized the hives through a painting workshop.
The bees are carefully watched and raised by a beekeeper, Mr. François Payet.
A program that aims to safeguard bees and preserve biodiversity: presentation, visit of the apiary and tasting of honey.
