uPresentation of the restoration work in progress in the presence of artisans. Exhibition: "work in progress" plans and photos of the construction site during the day either in the church or at "la Poste", place de la Mairie.
From the 10th century church there is a semi-circular apse, flanked by two buttresses and three semicircular bays. The interior reveals fragments of frescoes. This church was succeeded by the construction in the twelfth century of an enlarged church and its bell tower porch allowing access to the transept. Under the impulse of Abbé Chicoisne, the decision to enlarge was taken in 1856, directed by the diocesan architect Guérin and the interior decoration entrusted to the Count of Galembert. The nave of the 12th century church was cut in two, its gutter walls and its remaining gables were raised. A new nave and an octagonal choir crossed the old building. The old nave became the transept of the new church. The orientation of the monument was completely modified and became north-south. The paneled barrel vault was painted with oil by Henri Grandin. The use of potash silicate allowed the ornamentation of 1200 m2 of interior wall paintings at a lower cost. The choice of Romanesque style for these paintings was stopped. The sanctuary is dedicated to the mystery of the Holy Sacrifice. The stained glass windows were made by the workshops J.L. Lobin (1859) and J.P Florence (1900).
