Prieuré de Puychevrier

Classified as "Historic Monument" in 1979, the priory is a private property. This monastery was built by the Order of Grandmont at the end of the XIIth century. The priory presents a typical architecture to this order characteristics of which were austerity and sobriety but not devoid of elegance. It consisted the North, at origin, of four buildings(ships) ordered around a central court(yard) with a church. He(It) underwent d' important modifications in the course of the XVth and XVIIth centuries. The church and the chapter house live(remain) the most interesting elements which remain(subsist) of the XIIth century.
