Built in neo-gothic style, the chapel was erected in 1890 following the apparitions of Lourdes. From the hill of Chagneux where it rises, the eye embraces a 360° panorama: Monts du Lyonnais, Mont Pilat and, on a clear day, up to Mont Blanc. Research undertaken in the 90s reveals on this site signs of medieval occupation (Christian shrine) and probably human dwellings in the High Middle Ages.
