"Milongueros, el compas del Buenos Aires"

This documentary invites you to travel through the golden age of the Argentine Tango of the 40s and 50s. You will be guided by the voice of old milongueros who grew up listening to the tango, who learned to dance with their friends and family, and who showed their movements in the local dance halls, where sometimes even they found their partner for life. Thanks to first person narration and images of different milongas, we learn about their origin, their dance styles, their rituals and their codes. What also emerges is an evolution of the tango over the years. In the hope that we will all hear what tango means to ancient milongueros, and how their soul is intertwined with their dance, and in the hope that we will all come to embrace the reason why we dance a social dance, we sincerely present this film to you." – Rika Fukuda & José Luis Ferraro

Tango de Soie is an unusual cultural place: an old factory hidden in an interior courtyard at the bottom of the Slopes of La Croix-Rousse transformed into a dance hall worthy of the suburbs of Buenos Aires. Silk Tango is the oldest Argentine tango association in France. It has 700 members, numerous dance workshops and a rich and varied cultural program.
