The strong house of Ségelard was built during Hundred Years' War to protect from enemy incursions the châtellenie of Montignac, isolated in the middle of the English fiefs. During centuries, till the end of the Sling(Revolt) in 1652, she(it) served as observation post, as no defence and as refuge for the farmers of surroundings. She(It) is characteristic of strong houses of Périgord.
