The Lighthouse(Headlight) of the Caravel is located within the National Natural reserve of the Peninsula of the Caravel in the Trinity in Martinique. It was built in 1861 and put into service in 1862 as Establishment of Maritime Signalling (ESM).
Classified as "Historic Monument" since 2013, this building culminates in 128 metres above the sea level and is so highest lighthouse(headlight) of France. Since 1970 it is automated.
Property of the Conservatoire du Littoral, its visit is proposed and framed(supervised) by the agents of the Nature park of Martinique, administrator of the Natural reserve.
He(It) is accessible(approachable) after 30 min walk on path from the parking lot of the Natural reserve.
