Temple Protestant du Raincy
17 allée de l'Ermitage 93340 Le Raincy
- Seine-Saint-Denis
- Île-de-France
Built at the top of the so-called battery hill during the 1870 war, the Protestant Temple dominates the Raincéen landscape, constituting a remarkable urban landmark. Built in grindstones as well as the rectory, it is a witness of the architecture of the late nineteenth century. Visiting, accompanied if desired, one will be able to admire the two magnificent triptychs of stained glass windows 7 meters high, rare for a Protestant temple, the very beautiful woodwork, the stands as well as the organ Merklin, built in 1899, recently restored. During the European Heritage Days, an exhibition in the sacristy traces the history of the Protestant parish from its creation in 1878 to the present day, attesting to the dynamism of its current life.
