This former square is located in the heart of the Grande-Île, the historic centre of Strasbourg. Until the Revolution, the square was the administrative and political centre of Strasbourg. Today, Gutenberg Square is bordered by the magnificent Renaissance building of the Chamber of Commerce. Since 1840, the statue of Gutenberg, made by David d'Angers, has stood in the centre of the square.
