1569. Following a decision of Charles IX to reform the local administration from Orléans, Jean Brachet is named(appointed) mayor of Orléans, the first one in the history(story) of the city(estate) ligérienne. Why this decision? What impact has she(it) on the evolution of the city over the centuries following so much on urbanistic plan that politician? What role played any of our first town councillors in the course(price) of the history of France?

Jacques Groslot, bailiff of the city, makes build in Renaissance this house which, after Revolution, the Town hall becomes. To answer its new functions(offices) better, the hotel makes then the object of reorganisations, in particular the addition of two wings. The interior design, realised between 1850 and 1854, is of Gothic style "troubadour"; his(her,its) lounges(shows) present to the visitors several remarkable rooms(parts,plays): a wooden safe(chest) offered by Louis XI to the canons of Saint-Aignan, an other one dating the XVIth century, as well as the diverse paintings(boards).
