A statuette of Notre-Dame of Pity in an oak in the middle of fields.
In the past, the oak was surrounded with meadows, which depended on the farm of the Big(Great) Tenanted farm, on the path(way) which led to the castle of Orthe. A legend tells that Brisegaud de Coësmes (1370-1410) made place a statuette of Notre-Dame of Pity, representing the Saint Vierge holding in his(her) brasle body of Jesus lowered(gone down) from his(her) cross, so that she protects the country then devastated by looters. In 1860, the pieces of the statuette are found in the hollow of the oak. Further to several miracles and the multiplication(increase) of pilgrimages, a new chapel, bigger(greater), is rebuilt between 1867 and 1899\.
