The strategical position of Castelnau-Pégayrols (put in self-assurance(balance) at the edge of a cliff and closed upstream by the castle) allowed to preserve its monuments. Today five buildings are listed in the register of Historic monuments. Let us leave to their discovery!
The medieval city(estate), built in fortress around its castle stayed undamaged behind its ramparts. Both churches and priory are witnesses(batons) of the splendour of the Romanesque art.
Hydraulic system and its mills: The very big(great) smartness of the system of water conveyance allowed to the inhabitants to on a rock with the same advantages as to live at the edge of a river.
