The Monitoring centre(Observatory) of the mount Aigoual is an emblematic, tourist and historic site construction of which is confidentially bound(connected) to the reforestation of the massif of Aigoual. Since 1894, the foresters then the meteorologists follow one another to make live this site around meteorological and climatological activities. This site is inhabited all year long by meteorologists. Weather conditions, renowned rough, are sometimes difficult in winter. This site located in 1567 m by height on the water parting collects(stores) records: wind, fog, hoarfrost, rain, snow.
"Key" activity is the one of the permanent exhibition, open to all public from May till October.
The permanent staff proposes a discovery of wings, their place of life and of work, in this historic monitoring centre(observatory) which offers in clear weather an exceptional panorama.
