A play exhibition(exposure)
« Return on Montauban» is a play exhibition(exposure), for the young people and the enthusiasts of heritage. It is devoted to representation in images of the poetic beauty of Montauban and to its division(sharing) in generations.
Exhibition(Exposure) "Return on Montauban" is realised with the help of the "Friends of old man Montauban", of the "Group Minima", of L' EPIMA (The pictorial school of Mandoune), artists and collectors who agreed to lend us of works and the Tiny Museum of Montauban (22, rue de la Comédie, 82000 Montauban).
This exhibition(exposure) is a great(tremendous) opportunity(occasion) to immerse itself again into the representation of the city. In this difficult time(period) when the historic centres suffer, we invite you to discover and to share unsuspected charm, always powerful and moving of the heart of the city of Montauban.
15 artists expose(explain)
15 artists participate with «the pictorial school of Mandoune» and the «Minima group» in exhibition(exposure) «Return on Montauban», they present a «new landscape» of Montauban in painting(paint), in miniature and in big(great) sizes(formats):
BRIGNAC / Yara OF ANDRADE / FRENCH Françoise DI / ADELINE DUCELIER / MAURICE ERASME / JEAN-FRANÇOIS GLEYZE / LAURENT LABRIAUD / MARIE-CHRISTINE NOEL / NONOKO / GRÉGORY PAMADOU / MORN / JEAN-PIERRE SANCHEZ / SOPHIE SCYEUR / GÉRARD SENES / THESEE
Their vision, in charge of solicitations current, does not contradict the painters of the landscape of last century the heirs, as Hubert BERGERE (1893-1983) of which are they (shepherdess's works, on the landscape of Montauban, are exposed(explained) at the same time), quite the opposite they share the same art and the same concerns for the beauty of the landscape of Montauban, in generations.
The negation of the city
Since the creation of the city until our days, Montauban is a present motive in the poetic and artistic imagination of the region. Awakening the glorious memory(souvenir) of the ancient country-houses of the South the blood of which is made red bricks, the city breathes fascination, emulation and hope of making continue still this waking dream. From the XVIIIth century and throughout romantic time(period), she(it) inspires a melancholic imagining at the time(weather) which passes. Finally, of the end of the XXth century in today, Montauban provokes fear, its existence is denied, the historic city disappears from paintings(cloths) and from poems. This negation seems to announce a collapse of the activity of the city heart, in a globalized world, upset by digital revolution and crossed by conflicts and wars.
Return on Montauban
