About the location

Hôtel Sully
14 rue de Sully, 86100 Châtellerault
  • Vienne
  • Nouvelle-Aquitaine
Châtellerault is a city of welcome(reception) of the pilgrims going(surrendering) to Santiago de Compostela. The scenographic space near(about) the church Saint Jacques plunges you into the history(story) of this thousand-year-old pilgrimage. The Sully hotel was built in the hinge of the 16th and 17th centuries by Charles Androuet du Cerceau, celebrate architect. Typical hotel of this period, it presents a court(yard) in the front and a garden in the back. Its architecture manifests the transition which takes place then between Renaissance and classic period. The inside was entirely renovated in the 19th century in a style neo-Renaissance.
