Exhibition(Exposure) "do you believe in It? Sorcery and healing" in the abbey Saint-André
The Museum proposes an innovative exhibition(exposure) «do you believe in It? Sorcery and healing» organised in collaboration with the Research firm and company(society) of Researches(Searches) for Traditional Survivals which offers a panorama on sorcery, magic, faiths and curative uses(practices) in the country and in the campaigns(countrysides) of metropolitan France and limousine of the Prehistory in our days.
More than 300 objects, videos and works coming from collections of the museum and from loans, allow of better connaitre and to include these ancestral intangible patrimonial practices. Come discover the magico-religious and therapeutic survivals which are the events(demonstrations) of the human companies(societies) to fight against misfortune and to try to explain the dangerous environment in which they live. Invested(Surrounded) with the popular belief, do not wizards and healers enjoy sometimes even a credit upper to that of the doctor for «rise the fire(light)», to remove sprains(infringements) or warts?
This exhibition(exposure) has not as object to praise of peculiar practices nor to recommend employment(use) of any therapeutic shape. It presents documents and stories relate to facts and faiths in our companies(societies) over the centuries and such as they survived until our days.
