The museum is on the site of the old(former) weapons factory of Châtellerault. This factory is created in 1819, it fabricates weapons with a blade then in 1931 of guns. The building(ship) of the museum is built in 1886-1887 and registered on the Additional Inventory of Historic monuments in 1989\. Manu is closed in 1968, and in 1970 Bernard de Lassée rents(praises) the building 206 to create a deprived Automobile museum there. In its death, the city acquires(buys back) a part(party) of its collection (in 1991) and rehabilitates the building(ship). In June, 1998, the Automobile museum Motorcycle Bike is inaugurated. The collections of the museum illustrate the history(story) of the automobile in the everyday life(daily paper) and the more total history(story) of cycle, of motorcycle, of scooter, of autocycle. The rare automobiles - Panhard and Levassor of 1893, Neighbour C14 of 1929 - and archetypes - Longchamp de Couçy 1953 - are next(go alongside) to the most popular cars such Ford T or 2 CV. One of the strong points of these collections is the presentation(display) of a very beautiful series of scooters and of motorcycles of French origin, supplemented by bikes with auxiliary engine and mopeds, speciality into which was converted the French industry of the motorcycle from 1950\. Besides these vehicles, the museum presents very interesting set(group) of engines, of accessories (lanterns, suitcases of journeys), and of advertising posters. The end of the route(course) reveals someone of treasures of the collection of the old(former) museum Sully, rich in sixteen thousand rooms(parts,plays). Archaeological objects, headgears, weapons châtelleraudaises but also works of art give you an overview of the history(story) of the city and of its country.
