Château de Dissay
Rue de l'Église
Quoted from 673, Dissay is the property of the bishops of Poitiers up to Revolution. The castle is rebuilt by Pierre d' Amboise, bishop from 1481 till 1505\. He(It) undergoes important modifications in the XVIIIth century. Ransacked and partly destroyed in Revolution, he takes his current turn following restorations(caterings) made between 1900 and 1905 by the architect Hardion. Surrounded with large staves(moats), the building presents a quadrangular plan flanked(thrown) by tours(towers, ballots) of angle crowned with a path round the battlements on machicolation and is provided with a châtelet elegant with entrance(entry) richly adorned. The inside possesses remarkable elements, as the wall paintings(paints) which adorns the oratory and the superb vault in palm tree of the staircase.
