Abbaye de Saint-Vigor
Rue des Sangles, 50680 Cerisy-la-Forêt
In the edge of the forest, the abbey church Saint-Vigor of Cerisy-la-Forêt is considered as the most old(former) type(chap) of the grandiose and severe architecture of the Norman dukes. With the chapel of the Abbot and the pond at least, the building manifests the big(great) hours of monastic life in Basse-Normandie. The minster articulates(is expressed) around a large nave of three spans in round arch and an apse which, with its three levels of stacked(superimposed) bays(berries), is an unique(only) jewel of Norman and Anglo-Norman architecture.
