From The parade of Carnival of Mangueira paying tribute to Maria Bethânia, the movie draws a route(course) between Rio and Bahia, by accompanying the singer in its family, festive and religious universe.
Synopsis:
The school of samba Mangueira took away(gained) the Carnival of 2016 by paying tribute to Maria Bethânia, the accent having been put on the quite particular(special) religiosity of this singer devoted to Catholicism and to candomblé. The movie followed the implementation of this Carnival, since the sketches of the very first allegoric tanks up to parades in the sambodrome, and accompanied Maria Bethânia in Recôncavo baianais, by taking part in its family and religious environment, as well as in parties(holidays) of its home town, Santo Amaro da Purificação, arresting so the universe which served as inspiration in the theme of parade.
By circulating(running) by Recôncavo Baianais and parade of Mangueira, the movie raises(draws up) bridges(decks) between Rio de Janeiro and Bahia, by presenting historic aspects such as the birth of samba, religious tolerance and racism.
On the director:
Marcio Debellian produces and realises documentaries, videos, shows and exhibitions(exposures). He(It) realised the documentary O vento lá drilled (2014), which draws a portrait of the poet Fernando Pessoa from readings of poems made by Cleonice Berardinelli and Maria Bethânia. Besides, he(it) assured(insured) argument, scenario and co-production of the documentary Palavra (In) cantada (2008), which deals with the report(relationship) between poetry and music.
