Mitry-Mory: a planned town cheminote in a wheel of locomotive
Guided tour of an emblematic city(estate) of the town planning of the years 1920-1930
The conurbation Roissy country of France in partnership with municipalities, proposes for the first time a programme of unpublished guided tours on the whole territory. Each will be able so to discover a neglected heritage but however marking the history(story) of the Paris, medieval region in our days. You will be guided by a specialist of the history of art, of archaeology or of the history(story) of his(her,its) territory which will share on this occasion all his(her,its) knowledge in an accessible way to all.
In the interwar period, rail companies are numerous to create equipments in the service(department) of their employees. Several housing is so built for the railway workers in the form of planned town, which is the new shape of town planning favoured for the well-being of the workers. It is the case of the city(estate) of the railroads of the North in Mitry-Mory. Several collective equipments are also constructed. Visit will allow to discover, on the occasion of a stroll in the district, this rich labour history(story).
