Jean de La Fontaine was born on July 8th (1621) in this elegant mansion which joins the life of the poet as commemorative site and place of inspiration. He(It) left him in 1676 at the age of 55 years for literary glory in Paris. Its native house was transformed into museum in 1876\. This superb commemorative site calls back(reminds) the life of the poet between Castle-Thierry and Paris where it finishes its days.
