From Middle Ages, legend points out that they had leant on one of the trees lining the road a statue of the virgin in oak. Miracles would then have occurred and a small chapel was built to accommodate the statue. On the ruins of this chapel was built in 1572 a larger building. Burnt down in the XVIIth century, it was restored at the beginning of the XIXth century.
She is seen rebuilt, of neoclassical style today. The facade is stone white with Paris, topped with a triangular front wall(pediment) which represents two angels carrying a garland of flowers and supported by four pilasters of ionic type. Both central pilasters frame(supervise) the door. The statue of origin, dating the XVIIth century, decapitated during Revolution, is inside the nave to the left. In the top of the facade, a bell tower shelters the bell.
The nave, in round arch, has an eight metre height. She(It) is also of neoclassical style, surrounded with six pilasters with capitals(big tops) of ionic style. It ends by a sculpted front wall(pediment) representing a triangle with an eye placed in its centre (symbol of the trinity). Under the triangle, a garland of flowers is supported(maintained) by two devils' heads (or of lions).
The chorus(choir) appears as a simple apse in semicircle(French National Assembly). A crypt is dug(accentuated) below. She receives eight bodies which are buried there and names of which are registered on a big(great), gravestone stone black paving stone, which is at the entrance(admission) of the chorus(choir). The entrance(entry) of the crypt, walled up, is underneath the sacristy.
