About the location

Eglise de Bonsecours
256 avenue de Strasbourg - 54000 Nancy
  • Meurthe-et-Moselle
  • Grand Est
A first chapel was built in 1484, on the site of the battle of Nancy, where thousands of corpses were buried in a pit. In 1484, a member of a religious order obtained permission from René II to raise(bring up) to it a chapel and a hermitage. She(It) will be shaved by Stanislas who laid the foundations of the current church, in 1738, to create the funeral chapel of his(her) family there. Conceived(Designed) by Emmanuel Héré, she presents certain kinship with the old(former) sanctuary of the cemetery St Nicholas' Day of Vienna(Vienne). Baroque inside. In the crypt rest(base) the king Stanislas, her wife, girl of Louis XV, as well as the heart of their daughter Marie Leszcynsk.
