Within houses restored by the shepherd and by the shoemaker and by the big tower of the XIVth century, twenty spaces evoke the everyday life and the history(story) of the city.
The from XIVth century till XVIIIth century, Châtillon is a provostship of the county then of the duchy of Bar, then of the duchy of Lorraine. By 1350, the market town is protected by a surrounding wall(speaker). The city was destroyed in 1476 in the course of the war led by Charles the Bold against the duke of Bar and of Lorraine René II. Renaissance will establish(constitute) then a period of reconstruction and of strong population growth, manifest it many houses and hotels of Renaissance style built by local horsemen and by the family of the usufructuary Lord of Châtillon, Bertrand de Jaulin. The city will undergo the delinquency(damaging effects) of the Thirty Years War and will then be abandoned(given up). In the XVIIIth century, Châtillon-sur-Saône rebuilds.
